Pleasantly surprised September 1, 2010 Xiao Geng I have been looking for a cheap fountain pen. I looked at the typical companies, (such as Lamy and Cross), and even ordered one from Lamy. The pen worked well, but it was nothing special. I wanted to use my own inks, and since the Lamy did not contain a converter (as described in the product page) I decided to return it.
I gave up on finding a good fountain pen for a while. A few days ago, I found this pen. For 15 dollars, and 5 for shipping, I did not give much hope to it. Now that I've been using it, I find it extremely easy to use, provided you squeeze plenty of ink into the pen. It is also very stylish, and feels solid.
Highly recommended for the price.
Looks good, writes good August 25, 2010 Alex Writes smoothly, ink flow is even. Well balanced and heavy. Looks good, better than some more expensive pens. Although it came with a bottle of ink, I use it with Noodler's Baystate Blue. Well worth the money.
Good buy for the price August 8, 2010 X750 Kompass Fountain Pen It is over all a good pen but I have problems with ink flow and after a certain time it stops writing. Overall it is a nice pen and writes smoothly.
It's okay. August 8, 2010 Pedo (San Francisco, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I get major ink flow problems with this pen. I've bought 2 different models, and both have the same problem. The pen would write just fine initially, but lines write fader over time until there's zero ink flow. The Bulows come with a converter containing a small ball inside, presumably to slow down ink delivery from the converter to the nib. However, that ball seems to interfere with the ink delivery such that ink flow stops entirely, even with a full converter.
The pen itself writes fairly smooth. Not anywhere near higher end fountain pens like Visconti, but that's to be expected. There also tends to be lots of skipping, making writing very frustrating. On the whole, I think I'd rather pay more for another pen that writes consistently.
Iron fountain Pen June 24, 2010 Alvaro Novello 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The X750 fountain pen is beautiful, the style and how it works. The refillable system works very well. Write with X750 is a pleasure, the pen writes softly without ink stains or interruptions in the ink flux. You pay nothing for such quality.
